What are the first steps to getting married at Old Stone Church?
The first step to fill out our Wedding application. Once completed, our wedding coordinator will be in touch with you on next steps, which includes securing your date with a non-refundable deposit, couple counseling sessions, and to answer any questions you might have.
What is the cost of a wedding?
The cost for a wedding at Old Stone Church is $2,500 for a Wedding taking place on a Friday or a Saturday, with a non-refundable deposit of $1,500, which secures your date and time. The remaining balance of $1,000 is due six weeks prior to your wedding date.
Weddings that take place on a Sunday cost $3,000, with a non-refundable deposit of $2,000 due at the time of booking to reserve your date and time. The remaining balance of $1,000 is due six weeks prior to your wedding date.
Dates and times are not placed on the church calendar until the deposit and application are received and confirmed by the wedding coordinator.
All dates are subject to availability, and there may extra costs to have weddings on holidays. Please inquire with your wedding coordinator for more information.
What does a wedding include?
Our wedding package is designed to be all-inclusive, and includes the following:
- Sanctuary and building facilities use for your wedding and rehearsal
- Counseling sessions arranged with your officiant
- Officiating minister
- Organist
- Soloist
- Video recording of your ceremony w/ option to livestream the service.
- Wedding assistant
- Personalized unity candle
- Two Seven-branch candelabras and candles
- Use of Existing Altar Flowers
- Security & Cleaning
What is the capacity for a wedding at Old Stone Church?
Old Stone Church can accommodate up to 600 guests.
Can I select my wedding officiant?
Old Stone Church has multiple ministers who participate in the marriage preparation program. The officiating minister for your ceremony is assigned on a rotating schedule and availability. The officiating minister is in charge of all wedding content of the service and anyone else who may participate.
Old Stone Church respects the relationship between those seeking to be married and their clergy, who may be outside of Old Stone Church. In some cases, the opportunity to co-officiate the ceremony may exist. Please check in with your wedding coordinator upon booking your wedding.
Does Old Stone Church require marriage preparation seminars or counseling?
Old Stone Church requires that all couples who choose to be married at Old Stone Church participate in up to five couple counseling sessions.
Failure to participate in the wedding seminar will result in your wedding date being canceled.
What can I expect during the couple counseling sessions?
Topics covered during sessions include:
- An overview of Christian marriage
- Dealing with stress/conflict resolution
- Couple and family background
- Finances and budgeting
- Relationship roles
- Your music options at Old Stone Church
What music selections are available?
Music at Old Stone Church is centered in the values and traditions of Christian worship. Old Stone Church does not allow the use of pre-recorded music. Please consult with your wedding coordinator for a selection of music. Examples of traditional wedding music are available here.
How long will my wedding be?
Up to two hours are allowed for each wedding. You will arrive one hour before your ceremony. Your ceremony will not last for more than 45 minutes, allowing a half hour for photography afterward. Formal receiving lines should occur in the place chosen for the reception. Time does not permit for a receiving line and photography to take place following the ceremony.
Will there be a wedding rehearsal and how long is it?
A wedding rehearsal are 45-50 minutes in length and typically take place the day before the wedding. The wedding assistant and/or the officiating minister are in charge of the rehearsal.
Does Old Stone Church provide parking?
Old Stone Church does not have a parking lot. Parking for the wedding party, and its guests is the parties responsibly. It is best to inquire with the wedding coordinator or area garages and lots prior to your wedding.
Can I hire a professional wedding planner?
Wedding planners can be helpful, however please keep in mind that the Old Stone Church clergy, and wedding assistant are in charge of the wedding rehearsal and wedding itself.
What are your photography and recording guidelines?
Your hired photographer and guests are allowed to take flash photographs during the procession of your wedding party and as the couple is exiting the church. During the service flash photography is not permitted. Photographs (including video) may be taken during the service only from the balcony using available light. Ushers are to make certain that guests are aware of these conditions.
As part of your wedding package, Old Stone Church will provide a professional video recording of your service. Please inquire with your wedding coordinator on details, including your desire to livestream the service to out-of-town guests.
What are my decoration options?
Decorations are to be lept to a minimum so as not to distract from the service itself. The church does not provide pew decorations or vases. Pew decorations may be attcahed using pipe cleaners or jewlery elastic. Tapes, clamps, and pew candles are not permitted. Rice, confetti, birdseed, balloons, flower petals, sparklers, or other "like" materials are not to be used.
What length aisle runner can I use?
If you decide to use an aisle runner, which is optional and not provided by the church, the sanctuary aisles are 90 feet long.
What is the food and drink policy?
There are no alcoholic beverages or food allowed in connection with either the rehearsal or the wedding itself on the premises of Old Stone Church. Additionally, Old Stone Church is a smoke-free facility. Please make sure all members of your wedding party are aware of Old Stone Church's policy.
